{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-61.365","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 61.365","heading":"Named federal employees deemed peace officers in Kentucky.","body":"The following persons who are employed by the federal government as law enforcement\nor investigative officers who have the power of arrest and who are residents of the\nCommonwealth of Kentucky shall be deemed peace officers and shall have the same\npowers and duties of any other peace officer in the Commonwealth, except that they shall\nnot be required to serve process unless permitted to do so by their respective agencies:\n(1) Federal Bureau of Investigation special agents;\n(2) United States Secret Service special agents;\n(3) United States Marshal's service deputies;\n(4) Drug Enforcement Administration special agents;\n(5) Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives special agents;\n(6) United States Forest Service special agents and law enforcement officers;\n(7) Special agents and law enforcement officers of the Office of the Inspector General\nof the United States Department of Agriculture;\n(8) United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agents;\n(9) United States National Park Service law enforcement rangers; and\n(10) United States Mint Police of the United States Department of the Treasury:\n(a) On the portion of United States Highway 31W that is located within the\nborders of the Fort Knox Military Reservation;\n(b) Within a local jurisdicti on, upon the written request of the head of the local\nlaw enforcement agency identifying a specific event and time frame for which\nassistance is requested; and\n(c) Within the Commonwealth, upon the written request of the commissioner of\nthe Department of Kentucky State Police identifying a specific event and time\nframe for which assistance is requested.","path":["KRS Chapter 61"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=46472","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:14Z","sha256":"0132a8ef77652eb16c57aeb5fed19838e444c894e781ba77edf743686f6e3340","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-61.362","next":"us-ky/krs-61.370"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
