{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-61.395","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 61.395","heading":"Leave time for state employee who is disaster services volunteer -- Short","body":"title.\n(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Disaster\" means disasters designated at level III and above in the American\nNational Red Cross Regulations and Procedures; and\n(b) \"State agency\" means all departments, offices, commissions, boards,\ninstitutions, and political and corporate bodies of the state, including the\noffices of the clerk of the Supreme Court, clerks of the appellate courts, the\nseveral courts of the state, and the legislature, its committees, or commissions.\n(2) An employee of a state agency who is a certified disaster services volunteer of the\nAmerican Red Cross may be granted leave from work with pay for not to exceed\nthirty (30) work days in any twelve (12) month period to participate in specialized\ndisaster relief services for the American Red Cross for the services of that employee\nand upon the approval of that employee's agency, without loss of seniority, pay,\nvacation time, sick time, compensatory time, or earn ed overtime accumulation. The\nagency shall compensate an employee granted leave under this section at the regular\nrate of pay for those regular work hours during which the employee is absent from\nwork.\n(3) This section may be cited as the Disaster Services Volunteer Leave Act.","path":["KRS Chapter 61"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=22938","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:14Z","sha256":"f581cd72a5e137dbb60a53bf73d141d491cdd8024fee05368e344685681f1635","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-61.394","next":"us-ky/krs-61.396"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
