{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-61.526","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 61.526","heading":"Employee  and employer  may  file statement of facts at retirement","body":"office -- Procedures for verification.\n(1) Upon  becoming a member  of the Kentucky Employees Retirement System, the\nCounty Employees Retirement System, or the State Police Retirement System,\nthe employee and employer may file in the retirement office, in the form and\ndetail as the authority may  prescribe, a statement of facts pertaining to the\nemployee  and other information the authority may  require, including but not\nlimited to a record of military service and previous employment  with the\nemployer.\n(2) If the records of the employer employing the member  during the time the\nservice was rendered do not substantiate the statement of facts filed by the\nmember,  the member  shall be notified of any discrepancy. The member  shall\nbe  advised that he has the responsibility of supplying verification of any\nunsubstantiated service.\n(3) At the request of the member, or the beneficiary if the member  is deceased,\nthe Authority's executive director shall arrange a time and place or process to\nreceive additional information in regard to the unsubstantiated service. After\nfiling the request, the member  or the beneficiary if the member  is deceased,\nshall have a reasonable time but no more than six (6) months to present the\nadditional information to substantiate the unsubstantiated service.\n(4) The  system may  allow a member  to retire or obtain a refund without the\nmember  submitting a statement of facts pertaining to the member  as described\nby this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 61"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50818","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:15Z","sha256":"461b56a49dea30674ab26876551231886a876040fdf9f89be024feab780389d9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-61.525","next":"us-ky/krs-61.527"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
