{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-61.889","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 61.889","heading":"Bond -- Oath -- Copies of bonds to be recorded.","body":"Each TVA or commission peace officer appointed pursuant to KRS 61.886 to 61.892\nshall, before he or she enters upon the discharge of the duties of his or her office, execute\nbond in the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000), with good security, conditioned upon\nthe faithful performance of his or her duty as such officer, and take and subscribe an oath\nof office and the oath required by Section 228 of the Constitution of Kentucky. The bond\nand oath shall be entered of record by the Secretary of State, and the execution of the\nbond and the taking of the oath shall be endorsed upon the commission of the person so\nqualifying. In lieu of such individual bonds, a duly executed bond covering all TVA or\ncommission peace officers appointed and commissioned pursuant  to this section, as\nprincipals, with TVA as surety, in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for each\nsuch officer and conditioned for the faithful performance of his or her duties may be filed\nby TVA or the commission with the Secretary of State  of the Commonwealth in which\nevent individual bonds shall not be required.","path":["KRS Chapter 61"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=39854","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:16Z","sha256":"e296de8bc7926dc5c0813c253dc4fbb671ed00feb608144e78b8a18a755b2640","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-61.888","next":"us-ky/krs-61.890"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
