{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-610.035","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 610.035","heading":"Truancy intervention -- Family needs assessment -- Duties of court -","body":"designated worker -- RISE team -- Notice to county attorney.\n(1) Upon receipt of a completed truancy intervention precomplaint form required under\nKRS 159.152(2), the court-designated worker shall:\n(a) Provide notice to the student and the student's parent, guardian, or other\nperson exercising custodial control or supervision that they shall attend an\ninitial meeting with the court -designated worker to discuss barriers to schoo l\nattendance or other identified issues;\n(b) At the initial meeting, the court-designated worker shall:\n1. Perform a family needs assessment to identify barriers to school\nattendance or, if referred pursuant to KRS 610.033(6)(b), to address the\nbarriers to  successful completion of a diversion agreement, and to\nidentify services to address these barriers and any other identified issues;\n2. Provide the results of the family needs assessment to the student and the\nstudent's parent, guardian, or other person exercising custodial control or\nsupervision; and\n3. Provide the student and the student's parent, guardian, or other person\nexercising custodial control or supervision with notice to attend a\nmandatory meeting with the RISE team, together with the date, time ,\nand either the physical location of the meeting if conducted in person, or\nthe meeting access information if conducted virtually;\n(c) Provide the RISE team with the results of the family needs assessment no\nlater than forty-eight (48) hours following the initial meeting;\n(d) 1. Convene and facilitate the RISE team to review and enhance the family -\nspecific improvement plan to address barriers to school attendance, or\nbarriers to completion of a diversion agreement if referred pursuant to\nKRS 610.033(6)(b) for each identified family; and\n2. Before the conclusion of the RISE team meeting, provide each identified\nfamily and each identified school with a written family -specific\nimprovement plan;\n(e) If applicable, review a family -specific improvement plan or a diversion\nagreement to incorporate modifications to a family-specific improvement plan\nor diversion agreement; and\n(f) Provide case management services to assist the family in achieving the goals\nof the family-specific improvement plan.\n(2) (a) Upon the accrual of fifteen (15) unexcused abs ences by a student who is\nparticipating in the SOAR Program, the court -designated worker shall notify\nthe county attorney and shall provide the county attorney with a report on the\nefforts and results of the SOAR Program's work with the student and the\nparent, guardian, or other person exercising custodial control or supervision of\nthe student.\n(b) 1. The county attorney shall, upon review of the report, determine if court\nintervention is appropriate against the student.\n2.
