{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-620.048","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 620.048","heading":"Cabinet to file petition within 72 hours if child remains placed outside of","body":"home during child protective services investigation under agreed upon safety\nplan -- Cabinet to report on safety plans.\n(1) During a child protective services inv estigation conducted pursuant to the authority\nin this chapter where there is a safety plan negotiated and agreed upon between the\ncabinet and the parent, guardian, person in a position of authority or special trust, as\ndefined in KRS 532.045, or other per son having custodial control or supervision of\nthe child or responsibility for his or her welfare that the child cannot safely remain\nin the home, the cabinet shall file a petition in court within seventy -two (72) hours\nif the child remains placed outside of his or her home for more than fourteen (14)\nconsecutive days.\n(2) All safety plans implemented pursuant to this section shall be compiled by the\ncabinet on a quarterly basis into a report containing at a minimum the total number\nof safety plans, the out come of the safety plans, and the number of court petitions\nfiled.\n(3) By December 1, 2024, and quarterly thereafter, the cabinet shall make available, on\nits website and to the Legislative Research Commission for referral to the Interim\nJoint Committee, S enate Standing Committee, and House Standing Committee on\nFamilies and Children, the report on safety plans established in subsection (2) of\nthis section.","path":["KRS Chapter 620"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56528","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:08Z","sha256":"d5a7abd9990c044d74457b2326903812fc26b302b31002d586dad1d935025518","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-620.045","next":"us-ky/krs-620.050"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
