{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-620.537","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 620.537","heading":"Director of association -- Qualifications -- Duties.","body":"If the state board employs a full -time staff person to serve as the director of the\nassociation, then:\n(1) The state director shall be a person who by a combination of education, professional\nqualification, training, and experience is qualified to perform the duties of this\nposition. The state director shall be of good moral character with at least two (2)\nyears of experience working in a position managing a human services program and\nwho has received a:\n(a) Master's degree in social work, sociology, psycho logy, guidance and\ncounseling, education, criminal justice, or other human service field; or\n(b) Baccalaureate degree in social work, sociology, psychology, guidance and\ncounseling, education, criminal justice, or other human service field with, in\naddition to the work experience required in this subsection, at least two (2)\nmore years of experience working in the human services field.\n(2) The duties of the state director shall be:\n(a) To manage the state court-appointed special advocate office, including staff;\n(b) To coordinate the activities of the association;\n(c) To monitor the policies and practices of local CASA programs for compliance\nwith state laws, national standards for CASA programs, and standards and\nreporting requirements established by the st ate association; to assist local\nCASA programs in efforts to achieve compliance; and to report to the state\nassociation the status of compliance by local CASA programs;\n(d) Upon request of local CASA programs, to provide technical assistance to\nlocal CASA programs;\n(e) To provide technical assistance and support to chief judges of family courts,\nChief District Judges, and others in development of new local CASA\nprograms;\n(f) To coordinate a statewide public awareness campaign for generating interest\nin developing new CAS A programs, recruiting volunteers, and informing the\npublic of the issues concerning child abuse and neglect; and\n(g) Other duties as directed by the association.","path":["KRS Chapter 620"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57389","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:08Z","sha256":"41d9e02682d6ec19864ced3a5a16f5e2a4fd31f75dc27fe8c969e9eb7625a613","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-620.535","next":"us-ky/krs-620.540"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
