{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-64.060","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 64.060","heading":"Peace officers generally.","body":"(1) Sheriffs, constables granted peace officer powers, coroners, marshals, and\npolicemen shall be paid out of the State Treasury for the following services the\nfollowing fees:\n(a) Apprehending a person on charge of felony, or a fugitive\nfrom justice charged with a felony in this state ........................................$10.00\n(b) Executing a process of contempt in a criminal\ncase when the court excuses the contempt  ................................................$1.60\n(c) Executing a summons upon a witness in behalf\nof the Commonwealth in a felony case ......................................................$3.00\n(d) Summoning a jury, on orde r of a court, in a county other than that in which\nthe action is pending, a reasonable allowance to be fixed by the court.\n(e) Summoning and attending a jury in a case of felony  ................................$2.50\n(2) No claim for services incidental to examining courts shall be allow ed to any sheriff,\ndeputy sheriff, constable, marshal, policeman, or other officer authorized to execute\nprocess in felony cases until the grand jury has returned an indictment for a felony.\n(3) Constables and deputy constables authorized to exercise the powers of a peace\nofficer under KRS 70.325(2) shall be entitled to the fees provided under subsection\n(1) of this section and shall be subject to the requirements of subsection (2) of this\nsection.","path":["KRS Chapter 64"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53268","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:18Z","sha256":"13f37e2723e2025e659d25a89c0da74abbb8a6b1eec872b7178f05a0d9c05dda","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-64.058","next":"us-ky/krs-64.070"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
