{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-64.250","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 64.250","heading":"Justices of the peace in counties of over 250,000 population not containing a","body":"consolidated local government.\n(1) Except for a county containing a consolidated local government, in counties\ncontaining a population of over two hundred fifty thousand (250 ,000), each justice\nof the peace shall be exclusively compensated for the performance of the duties of\nhis office by a salary to be determined by the fiscal court at a rate no less than nine\nthousand six hundred dollars ($9,600) per annum but no greater th an twelve\nthousand dollars ($12,000) per annum, which shall be paid, in equal monthly\ninstallments, out of the county treasury.\n(2) The provisions of subsections (2), (3), and (4) of KRS 64.200 shall apply to justices\nof the peace in counties containing a population of over two hundred fifty thousand\n(250,000) except in a county containing a consolidated local government, the same\nas to constables, and the recorder shall perform the same duties and functions in\nregard to moneys collected by or for justices of the peace as they are required by\nKRS 64.200 to perform in regard to moneys collected by or for constables.","path":["KRS Chapter 64"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=23215","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:18Z","sha256":"31f1efd81e08e084b0d03e5c6f1208109b64c439b93417f4e889fdbe5a2e7730","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-64.230","next":"us-ky/krs-64.255"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
