{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-64.410","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 64.410","heading":"How fee-bills made out -- Provisions concerning.","body":"(1) The fee-bills of every officer shall be made out at length, in figures and in plain\nEnglish, and signed by the officer in his official capacity.\n(2) No officer shall demand or receive for his services:\n(a) Any other or greater fee than is allowed by law;\n(b) Any fee for services rendered when the law has not fixed a compensation\ntherefor;\n(c) Any fee for services not actually rendered.\n(3) Where there are more plaintiffs or defendants than one (1) in an action and they\nsever in their pleadings or other wise, so that part of them cause an officer to render\nseparate services for him or them, for which the others ought not to be liable, the\nfees for such services shall be charged separately to those for whom the service is\nrendered.\n(4) No officer in makin g out his fee -bill shall omit the name of any person properly\nchargeable therewith, or insert the name of a person not properly chargeable.\n(5) Fees against a person acting in a trust capacity shall be made out against him in such\ncapacity and he shall on ly be liable therefor to the extent of the trust funds in his\nhands liable to the payment thereof.\n(6) No fee-bill shall be made out, or compensation allowed hereafter, for any ex officio\nservices rendered by any officer.","path":["KRS Chapter 64"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=23244","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:18Z","sha256":"23e648bd120e4985903e3370232d48e1dd2615482ecab5d649bd1de721e16814","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-64.400","next":"us-ky/krs-64.420"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
