{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-64.690","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 64.690","heading":"Applicability of other statutes dealing with compensation -- Applicability of","body":"KRS 64.368 if population decreases below 70,000.\n(1) Except as provided in KRS 64.610 and in this section, KRS 64.480 to 64.740 are\nintended to supersede any existing statute, fixing the compensation, or authorizing\nany public officer or body to fix the compensation, of any public officer or\nemployee covered by KRS 64.480 to 64.740.\n(2) Any public officer or body which has authority to fix the compensation of any state\nofficer or employee covered by KRS 64.640 shall exercise such authority, subject to\nthe schedule and limits of compensation for the particular office or position\nprescribed in KRS 64.640. The secretary of the Personnel Cabinet shall have the\nauthority to monitor an d require compliance with the provisions of this section and\nKRS 64.640 and 64.475.\n(3) KRS 64.480 to 64.740 are not intended to supersede any existing statute, with\nrespect to the compensation of circuit clerks, county clerks, sheriffs, master\ncommissioners, and receivers, and their deputies and assistants, in counties\ncontaining a population of seventy thousand (70,000) or more, or property valuation\nadministrators, their deputies, and assistants, in any county.\n(4) If a county's population that equaled o r exceeded seventy thousand (70,000) is less\nthan seventy thousand (70,000) after the most recent federal decennial census, then\nthe provisions of KRS 64.368 shall apply.","path":["KRS Chapter 64"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=23293","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:19Z","sha256":"3884f31b69f6b27fa32a9e8010541cc26842c3517b34baff8adb01b59a9603c3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-64.680","next":"us-ky/krs-64.700"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
