{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-645.130","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 645.130","heading":"Rights and duties of court-designated workers.","body":"(1) The Administrative Office of the Courts shall assign a court -designated worker, as\ndescribed in KRS Chapters 600 and 605, to maintain contact with and perform other\nspecific functions on behalf of each child involuntarily hospitalized under this\nchapter.\n(2) Under no circumstances shall a child who is involuntarily hospitalized under this\nchapter be denied the opportunity to consult an attorney or a court -designated\nworker. The child also has a right to initiate or receive communications from his\nparents or  others, unless the treating physician concludes such communication\nwould be seriously detrimental to the child's condition or treatment, so indicates in\nthe medical record, and notifies the parent or other person exercising custodial\ncontrol or supervision.\n(3) During involuntary hospitalizations, the court -designated worker shall have access\nto the child but shall not have access to the child's records except by court order.\nThe court -designated worker may recommend that the court review the child's\nrecords.","path":["KRS Chapter 645"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=20336","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T21:00:10Z","sha256":"981439023555591d5feb7e8c37c45e210fd6f739b0ffef2de997e1844e54ed2a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-645.120","next":"us-ky/krs-645.140"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
