{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-65.012","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 65.012","heading":"Requirements for referendum petitions.","body":"(1) All referendum petitions permitted by general law in KRS Chapters 65, 67, 67A,\n67C, 68, 76, 81, 81A, 83A, 96, 96A, 97, 98, 99, 107, 108, 109, 132, 147, 157, 160,\n162, 165, 173, 178, 183, 212, 230, 242, 243, 244, 262, 269, 424, and 436 and any\nreferendum petitions permitted by other KRS chapters in accordance with Sections\n60 and 171 of the Constitution of Kentucky shall include the:\n(a) Printed name of the petitioner;\n(b) Signature of the petitioner, or if the petitioner is a business or other\norganization, the signature of the legal representative of the business or\norganization;\n(c) Year of birth of the petitioner if the petitioner is an individual other than a\nbusiness or other organization;\n(d) Residential address of the petitioner, or if the petitioner is a business or other\norganization, the address of the physical location of the business or\norganization that authorizes it to be a petitioner and, if different, the address of\nits headquarters; and\n(e) Date that the petitioner signed the petition.\n(2) Unless otherwise explicitly provided under the applicable law governing the\npetition, to be eligible to sign any referendum petition described in this section, a\npetitioner shall:\n(a) Live in the district or jurisdiction that will be affected by the referend um or, if\nthe petitioner is a business or other organization, have a physical address\nwithin the district or jurisdiction that will be affected by the referendum; and\n(b) Be a registered voter if the petitioner is an individual other than a business or\nother organization.","path":["KRS Chapter 65"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48033","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:19Z","sha256":"c20079620bfedf5775475098cb4d366ccf4e76b14a1c8daec865711c30ad7a8e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-65.010","next":"us-ky/krs-65.013"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
