{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-65.066","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 65.066","heading":"Criminal background investigation for qualified local government employee","body":"with access to or use of federal tax information -- Fees -- Administrative\nregulations.\n(1) \"Qualified local government\" means a city, county, charter county government,\nurban-county government, unified local government, or consolidated local\ngovernment that meets the requirements for access to federal tax information as\ndescribed in 26 U.S.C. sec. 6103.\n(2) Each employee of a qualified local government, including contrac t staff, who has\naccess to or use of federal tax information directly sourced from the Internal\nRevenue Service under 26 U.S.C. sec. 6103 shall submit to a criminal background\ninvestigation by means of a fingerprint check by the Department of Kentucky Stat e\nPolice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.\n(3) Any fee charged by the Department of Kentucky State Police shall be an amount no\ngreater than the actual cost of processing the request and conducting the\nbackground check.\n(4) The Department of Kentuc ky State Police shall promulgate administrative\nregulations in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A to implement this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 65"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54831","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:20Z","sha256":"7abaa6b5eead598a52bff2ffab0c5f11e32b268fddc7cb7afe5529960b7d5594","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-65.065","next":"us-ky/krs-65.067"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
