{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-65.140","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 65.140","heading":"Local governments required to pay for purchases within 30 days -- Interest","body":"penalty.\n(1) As used in this section, unless the context otherwise requires, \"purchaser\" means\nany city, county, or urban -county government which receives goods or services\nfrom a vendor.\n(2) Unless the purchaser and vendor otherwise contract, all bills for goods or services\nshall be paid within thirty (30) working days of receipt of a vendor's invoice except\nwhen payment is delayed because the purchaser has made a written disapp roval of\nimproper performances or improper invoicing by the vendor or by the vendor's\nsubcontractor.\n(3) An interest penalty of one percent (1%) of any amount approved and unpaid shall be\nadded to the amount approved for each month or fraction thereof after the thirty (30)\nworking days which followed receipt of vendor's invoice by the purchaser.","path":["KRS Chapter 65"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=23342","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:20Z","sha256":"706851ec6fb498ed374a3032593595df6c751d99077548137852dd48a8355059","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-65.135","next":"us-ky/krs-65.145"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
