{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-65.162","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 65.162","heading":"Special districts may be expanded to include additional counties.","body":"(1) Any special district may be expanded to include additional counties within its\njurisdiction for performing the function for which it was organized.\n(2) Before a county may participate in a multi -county special district, the fiscal court\nshall determine that participation is feasible and necessary. The determination shall\nbe made only after a duly advertised public hearing has been held by the fiscal\ncourt.\n(3) When a county is added to a multi -county special district, it shall be given\nrepresentation on the governing body of the district in the same manner as the other\ncounties within the district.\n(4) Members of the governing body of multi -county special districts may be removed\nfrom office as provided by KRS 65.007.","path":["KRS Chapter 65"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=23351","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:20Z","sha256":"1961f7fc58526f67ab990c97281d28ec2a22c9703b6ab19a4a3890165d5cd878","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-65.160","next":"us-ky/krs-65.164"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
