{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-65.200","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 65.200","heading":"Definitions for KRS 65.2001 to 65.2006.","body":"As used in KRS 65.2001 to 65.2006, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Action in tort\" means any claim for money damages based upon negligence,\nmedical malpractice, intentional tort, nuisance, products liability and strict liability,\nand also includes any wrongful death or survival-type action.\n(2) \"Employee\" means any elected or appointed officer of a local government, or any\npaid or unpaid employee or agent of a local government, provided that no\nindependent contractor nor employee nor agent of an  independent contractor shall\nbe deemed to be an employee of a local government.\n(3) \"Local government\" means any city incorporated under the law of this\nCommonwealth, the offices and agencies thereof, any county government or fiscal\ncourt, any special dis trict or special taxing district created or controlled by a local\ngovernment.","path":["KRS Chapter 65"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=23366","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:20Z","sha256":"b0436ff624aabf4ec0181797834a2cba0608ba051ed6c1f94c7bba0b1b3519b2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-65.192","next":"us-ky/krs-65.2001"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
