{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-65.205","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 65.205","heading":"Definitions for KRS 65.205 to 65.209.","body":"As used in KRS 65.205 to 65.209:\n(1) \"Energy improvement\" means any permanent improvement fixed to real property\nand intended to increase the efficiency of energy use or decrease water or energy\nconsumption or demand, generate electricity, provide thermal energy, or regulate\ntemperature, inc luding but not limited to a product, device, technology, or\ninteracting group of products, devices, or technologies on the customer's side of an\nelectric, gas, water, or other energy meter;\n(2) \"Energy project\" means the installation or modification of an energy improvement,\nincluding any associated project or financing costs;\n(3) \"Energy project assessment district\" or \"EPAD\" means a geographic area designated\nby a local government pursuant to KRS 65.206, within which energy projects may\nbe undertaken and financed through the imposition of an assessment pursuant to\nKRS 65.205 to 65.209;\n(4) \"Local government\" means any city, county, consolidated local government, urban -\ncounty government, charter county government, or unified local government of the\nCommonwealth;\n(5) \"Program\" means an EPAD program established by a local government pursuant to\nKRS 65.206; and\n(6) \"Real property\" excludes residential property consisting of fewer than five (5) units.","path":["KRS Chapter 65"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=44417","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:20Z","sha256":"7e3dad204f87694e2f5bb4809478d8b0d1422a6f6a8b04b13a9fdb678a659ad2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-65.2006","next":"us-ky/krs-65.206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
