The\nboard shall:\n(a) Represent a multicounty region;\n(b) Comply with the provisions of KRS Chapter 65A;\n(c) Agree, in writing, to the use or distribution of the revenue generat ed from a\nspecial ad valorem tax levied under KRS 65.302;\n(d) Agree, in writing, to the collection and distribution of the revenue generated\nfrom an occupational license fee imposed under KRS 65.302; and\n(e) Operate in accordance with the following:\n1. The board membership shall consist of at least one (1) trustee from each\nlocal government that is a party to the interlocal agreement;\n2. The trustees shall serve staggered terms of four (4) years;\n3. The chair of the board shall be elected by the trustees from among its\nmembership;\n4. The board may appoint a secretary, an executive director, and other\nofficials and employees who need not be members of the board;\n5. A quorum for the transacting of the business of the board shall consist of\na majority of its membership;\n6. A trustee of the board may be removed as provided by KRS 65.007; and\n7. Vacancies of the board shall be filled in the same manner as the original\nappointments.\n(2) No later than October  1 of each year, the Department for Local Government shall\ncompile the information received by the board pursuant to KRS Chapter 65A and\nreport it to the Legislative Research Commission for referral to the Interim Joint\nCommittee on Appropriations and Revenue.","path":["KRS Chapter 65"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57923","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:21Z","sha256":"23d42b497b31884d78204e1da62f415a57f9915618a84a4ac22e6964018e7db6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-65.302","next":"us-ky/krs-65.306"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
