{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-65.7625","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 65.7625","heading":"Appointment and duties of state administrator of commercial mobile radio","body":"service emergency telecommunications.\n(1) The executive director of the Office of Homeland Security shall appoint a state\nadministrator of commercial mobile radio service emergency telecommunications.\nThe executive director of the Office of Homeland Security shall set the\nadministrator's compensation, the cost of which may be shared by the Office of\nHomeland Security and the Kentucky 911 Services Board. The board shall be\nresponsible for any portion of the administrator's salary that is not to be paid by the\nOffice of Homeland Security, with the board's portion of the salary to be paid from\nthat portion of the CMRS fund that is authorized under KRS 65.7631(2) to be used\nby the board for administrative purposes.\n(2) The administrator of CMRS emergency telecommunications shall serve as the\ncoordinator and administrator on behalf of the board, and shall conduct the day -to-\nday operations of the board.\n(3) The administrator shall,  with the advice of the board, coordinate and direct a\nstatewide effort to expand and improve enhanced emergency telecommunications\ncapabilities and responses throughout the state, including but not limited to the\nimplementation of wireless E911 service re quirements of the FCC order and rules\nand regulations adopted in carrying out that order. In this regard, the administrator\nshall:\n(a) Obtain, maintain, and disseminate information relating to emergency\ntelecommunications technology, advances, capabilities, and techniques;\n(b) Coordinate and assist in the implementation of advancements and new\ntechnology in the operation of emergency telecommunications in the state,\nincluding the development and implementation of next generation 911\nservice;\n(c) Implement c ompliance throughout the state with the wireless E911 service\nrequirements established by the FCC order and any rules or regulations which\nare or may be adopted by the Federal Communications Commission in\ncarrying out the FCC order; and\n(d) Perform all fun ctions and duties assigned by the board in carrying out the\npurposes of KRS 65.7621 to 65.7643, including but not limited to making a\nfull report to the board at each meeting of the activities in which the\nadministrator has engaged in the discharge of his or her duties since the\nprevious meeting.","path":["KRS Chapter 65"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=47985","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:22Z","sha256":"ceda6634093027e5dedbbe05f4f730620a7ec3be0f68c9ea756a135565797791","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-65.7623","next":"us-ky/krs-65.7627"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
