{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-67.070","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 67.070","heading":"Fiscal courts having county commissioners, law governing -- Special","body":"sessions -- Tie vote.\n(1) Except as provided in subsections (2) and (3) of this section, and as otherwise\nprovided by law, all laws governing fiscal courts composed of the county\njudge/executive and the justices of the peace shall be applicable to fiscal courts\ncomposed of the county judge/executive and the county commissioners.\n(2) When the county judge/executive is unable to call a special session, or refuses to do\nso on request of tw o (2) commissioners, two (2) commissioners may call it if, in\ntheir opinion, the necessity exists.\n(3) When there is a tie vote in the fiscal court in the selection of any officer or\nemployee to be selected by the fiscal court, and a deadlock results and c ontinues for\nfifteen (15) days or longer, the county judge/executive shall cause to be entered\nupon the minutes of the fiscal court an order reciting the facts as to the deadlock,\nand the question upon which it has occurred and exists, and thereupon, unles s an\nelection is immediately made by the fiscal court, the county judge/executive shall\nappoint the officer or employee.","path":["KRS Chapter 67"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=23682","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:25Z","sha256":"3c811bd89f9b3dbf26b545c1431dc0a2466d4cd31d99dc94d50b39e3fe3bfa8a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-67.065","next":"us-ky/krs-67.075"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
