{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-67.077","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 67.077","heading":"Treatment of proposed ordinance -- Incorporation of material into","body":"ordinance by reference -- Section not applicable to charter county, urban -\ncounty government, or consolidated local government.\n(1) No county ordinance shall be passed until it h as been read on two (2) separate days,\nbut ordinances may be read by title and a summary only. A proposed ordinance may\nbe amended by the fiscal court after its first reading and prior to its adoption. All\namendments shall be proposed in writing, and only by setting out in full each\namended section.\n(2) All county ordinances and amendments shall be published pursuant to KRS Chapter\n424 after passage and may be published in full or in summary form at the discretion\nof the fiscal court. If applicable, a sketch, drawing, or map, together with a narrative\ndescription written in layman's terms, may be used in lieu of metes and bounds\ndescriptions. If published in summary form, publication shall contain notice of a\nplace in the county where the full text of the or dinance or amendment is available\nfor public inspection.\n(3) Traffic, building, housing, plumbing, electrical, safety, and other self -contained\ncodes may be adopted by reference if a copy of the code is kept with the adopting\nordinance and is made a part of the permanent records of the county.\n(4) The provisions of this section shall not be applicable in counties that have pursuant\nto KRS 67.830 adopted a charter county form of government or pursuant to KRS\nChapter 67A adopted an urban -county form of govern ment or pursuant to KRS\nChapter 67C adopted a consolidated local government.","path":["KRS Chapter 67"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50323","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:25Z","sha256":"ac226cce487b63f985389222bca5d37c1fb69fb4df7baa3f93e525e1e805a8cb","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-67.076","next":"us-ky/krs-67.078"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
