{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-67.410","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 67.410","heading":"County building inspectors -- Building permits -- Fees -- Appeals.","body":"(1) The fiscal court of any county may appoint a qualified and competent person to\nadminister such regulations. His official title shall be \"Building Inspector of ....\nCounty, Kentucky.\" His salary shall be fixed by the fiscal court, and paid out of the\ncounty levy. He shall have such deputies and assistants as the fiscal court deems\nnecessary, and their salaries shall likewise be fixed by the fiscal court and paid out\nof the county levy. The fiscal court shall also pay out of county funds the necessary\nexpenses of his office. The fiscal court may contract with individuals or\ncorporations for the performance of technical or scientific services required for the\nproper enforcement and administration of its building regulations.\n(2) No person shall build, erect, c onstruct, reconstruct, remodel, relocate, alter or repair\nany building within the county without first obtaining a building permit from the\nbuilding inspector.\n(3) The fiscal court shall establish a system of reasonable fees to be charged every\napplicant for such permit, but such fees shall not exceed the cost of the service\nprovided.\n(4) Any person aggrieved by any ruling, order, or decision of such building inspector\nmay appeal using the procedures provided in KRS 198B.070.","path":["KRS Chapter 67"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=23737","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:26Z","sha256":"0ed4fa451e6cfff07783531ca0b3e765d194d2acbed2c453d11f16e4e236c3d6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-67.400","next":"us-ky/krs-67.420"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
