{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-67.922","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 67.922","heading":"Rights, powers, privileges, immunities, and responsibilities of unified local","body":"government -- Continuance of county and city laws -- Enactment and\nenforcement of ordinances.\n(1) A unified local government may exercise the constitutional and statut ory rights,\npowers, privileges, immunities, and responsibilities of counties and of cities of the\nfirst class or home rule class within the unified local government:\n(a) In effect on the date the unified local government becomes effective;\n(b) Which may su bsequently be authorized for or imposed upon counties and\ncities of that class; and\n(c) Which may be authorized for or imposed upon unified local governments.\n(2) If a city of the first class exists within the county on the date that the unified local\ngovernment becomes effective and that city is part of the unified local government,\nthe unified local government may also exercise the constitutional and statutory\nrights, powers, privileges, immunities, and responsibilities of a city of the first class\nin addition to its authority to exercise the rights, powers, privileges, immunities, and\nresponsibilities granted under subsection (1) of this section.\n(3) A unified local government shall be accorded the same sovereign immunity granted\ncounties, their agencies, officers, and employees.\n(4) All ordinances of a unified local government shall be enacted and enforced pursuant\nto KRS 83A.060 and 83A.065.","path":["KRS Chapter 67"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48679","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:27Z","sha256":"131ac9028e97d2dab75cadcbd0507537207bcdc77863babfeb7e325f0645b6f0","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-67.920","next":"us-ky/krs-67.924"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
