{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-67b.060","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 67B.060","heading":"Merit system for department employees.","body":"Upon the creation or maintenance of a metropolitan correctional services department by a\nconsolidated local government or county fiscal court, the consolidated local government\nor fiscal court may create or maintain a departmental merit system, and for tha t purpose,\nestablish, maintain, or designate an appropriate board, commission, or committee, whose\nduties it shall be to classify and examine applicants seeking employment as officers or\nemployees of the department, and in addition, to promulgate rules and  regulations\ngoverning the classification, qualification, examination, appointment, promotion,\ndemotion, suspension, and other disciplinary action within the department, with reference\nto all personnel of the department; and in addition thereto, to hold su ch hearings, public\nand executive, as may be reasonably required in the operation of a viable employment\nprotection and career development merit system.
