A board shall classify and\nexamine applicants seeking employment as officers of the police force of the\nconsolidated local government, excluding applicants for the posit ions of chief,\nassistant chief, and officers above the rank of captain. The board, except when\nprohibited, shall promulgate rules and regulations not inconsistent with KRS\n67C.301 to 67C.327 governing the classification, qualification, examination,\nappointment, probation, promotion, demotion, suspension, and other disciplinary\naction within the consolidated local government police force of all officers affected\nand covered by the provisions of KRS 67C.301 to 67C.327, and shall hold hearings\nand impose, if necessary, penalties upon the personnel affected by KRS 67C.301 to\n67C.327.\n(2) The legislative council of the consolidated local government shall annually\nappropriate funds for the reasonable and necessary expenses of the board.","path":["KRS Chapter 67C"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=24027","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:29Z","sha256":"3dce1e23ccd43ee31a3bf6b5846550a01485a8c380f872475ba40e2851171364","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-67c.301","next":"us-ky/krs-67c.305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
