{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-68.250","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 68.250","heading":"Form of budget -- State local finance officer to regulate -- Approval of","body":"budget.\n(1) The state local finance officer shall have full power and authority to supervise and\ndirect the form and classifications of all county budgets. He shall approve all budget\nforms and classifications and may change any form or classification submitted to\nhim before making such approval. The county judge/executive shall use the form\nfurnished or approved by the state local finance officer and shall not make any\nchanges therein or use any other form, unless authorized by the state local finance\nofficer.\n(2) Not less than twenty (20) days before the time for adoption of the county budget the\ncounty judge/executive shall transmit two (2) copies of the proposed budget\nincluding statements of both anticipated receipts and expenditures by budget funds,\nto the state local finance officer for approval as to form and classification.\n(3) If the state local finance officer finds that the proposed budget is uniform with the\nbudgets of other counties of the same class in classification of units and conforms to\nthe budget laws, he shall approve the classification, return the original copy to the\ncounty judge/executive and retain the duplicate copy as part of his records. If the\nproposed budget is not uniform with the budgets of other counties in classification\nof units he shall make such changes as he deems necessary for the purpose of\nestablishing uniformity.\n(4) If the proposed budget fails to comply with any requirements of law, the s tate local\nfinance officer shall so notify the county judge/executive, and may refuse to\napprove the budget until the county judge/executive authorizes him to make such\nchanges as he deems to be required by law.","path":["KRS Chapter 68"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=24093","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:30Z","sha256":"aab76258a6e49f71e24edc9b170076535a669247433b159d48726b482e6d4f42","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-68.249","next":"us-ky/krs-68.260"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
