{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-7.103","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 7.103","heading":"Interim joint committees -- Monthly meeting schedule -- Commission","body":"authorized to adopt new interim joint committee structure.\n(1) (a) The monthly meeting schedule for interim joint committees of the Legislative\nResearch Commission shall begin on June 1 and continue through December\n1 of each year. During that period, upon agreement of the co-chairs, an interim\njoint committee shall have the authority to meet according to the most recent\nregular monthly meeting schedule approved by a majority of the entir e\nmembership of the Commission. With an affirmative vote of a majority of its\nentire membership, the Commission may alter the beginning and concluding\ndates of authorization granted in this subsection for regular monthly meetings\nof interim joint committee s during the current calendar year, authorize any\nadditional meeting of any interim joint committee, or disapprove any meeting\nof any interim joint committee.\n(b) The co-chairs of each interim joint committee shall have joint responsibility\nfor approving m eeting agendas and presiding at meetings. If the co -chairs of\nany interim joint committee cannot agree on convening a monthly meeting,\neach co -chair, with the agreement of the presiding officer of the co -chair's\nchamber, may convene a meeting of the interi m joint committee members\nwho are members of the co -chair's chamber. If such a meeting is convened, it\nshall be on the regular monthly meeting date of the interim joint committee,\nand it shall be staffed by the Commission. Not more than three (3) such\nmeetings shall be convened by each co-chair in a calendar year.\n(c) Subcommittees of interim joint committees shall be authorized to meet\naccording to the policies and practices of the Commission.\n(2) For purposes of this section, \"interim joint committees\" means those subcommittees\nof the Commission which are constituted by combining the membership of Senate\nand House standing committees pursuant to the most recent interim joint committee\nstructure approved by a majority of the entire membership of the Commission. After\nMarch 31, 2003, until such time as the Commission, by an affirmative vote of a\nmajority of its entire membership, adopts a new interim joint committee structure,\nthe most recent interim joint committee structure adopted by the Commission shall\nbe considered to include an Interim Joint Committee on Seniors, Veterans, Military\nAffairs, and Public Protection, consisting of the members of the Senate Standing\nCommittee on Veterans, Military Affairs, and Public Protection and the House\nStanding Committee on Seniors, Military Affairs, and Public Safety.","path":["KRS Chapter 7"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=455","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:26Z","sha256":"40ad0b80ba90af46d40256c3c08675e1bce2ddfe0c12f38fb787b44e40dd02fe","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-7.101","next":"us-ky/krs-7.105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
