{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-7.107","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 7.107","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in KRS 7.110, 7.320 and 48.800, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Public agency\" means every state or local office, state department, division,\nbureau, board, commission and authority; every legislative board, commission,\ncommittee and of ficer; every county and city governing body, council, school\ndistrict board, special district board, municipal corporation, and any board,\ndepartment, committee, subcommittee, ad hoc committee, council or agency\nthereof; and other body which is created by state or local authority and which\nderives at least twenty-five percent (25%) of its funds from state or local authority;\nand\n(2) \"Public record\" means all books, papers, maps, photographs, cards, tapes, discs,\ndiskettes, recordings, magnetic or electronic  images, optical images or other\ndocumentary materials regardless of physical form or characteristics, which are\nprepared, owned, used, in the possession of, received or retained by a public agency.\n\"Public record\" shall not include any records owned by a private person or\ncorporation that are not related to functions, activities, programs, or operations\nfunded by state or local authority.","path":["KRS Chapter 7"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=457","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:26Z","sha256":"d219603b8ff33e4b51f9297568de3bf0c73910be0e48b0ff75358b441cd0e5b1","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-7.105","next":"us-ky/krs-7.110"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
