{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-7.111","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 7.111","heading":"Right of access to information, when.","body":"(1) The Department of Kentucky State Police, Department of Corrections, the\nDepartment of Juvenile Justice, the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, and the\nAdministrative Office of the Courts shall provide access to their databases and the\ncentralized crim inal history record information system and the data contained\ntherein to other criminal justice agencies, including criminal justice statistical\nanalysis centers, and to the Legislative Research Commission. The right of access\ngranted herein shall not incl ude the right to add to, delete, or alter data without\npermission of the agency holding the data.\n(2) Criminal justice agencies and the Legislative Research Commission shall not make\npublic information on an individual person's criminal history record wher e such\nrecord is protected by state or federal law or regulation.\n(3) The Legislative Research Commission shall have access to information which does\nnot identify an individual person when determined by the director of the Legislative\nResearch Commission to be necessary for a legislative purpose.\n(4) The Legislative Research Commission shall have access to individual persons'\ncriminal history records subject to the following provisions:\n(a) Access shall not include information on federal offenses or convictions;\n(b) Access shall not include information on out-of-state convictions; and\n(c) Requests for the release of the information shall be approved by the\nLegislative Research Commission by vote at a meeting of the Commission.","path":["KRS Chapter 7"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=461","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:26Z","sha256":"503bad114061ff2e0b2ceae7eb8c196448923fa6817189af3d30590784425254","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-7.1106","next":"us-ky/krs-7.112"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
