{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-7.140","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 7.140","heading":"Reviser of statutes -- Appointment -- Duties.","body":"(1) The execution of the functions provided for in KRS 7.120, 7.131, 7.132, 7.134,\n7.136, 7.138, and this section shall be carried out by a reviser of statutes, who shall\nbe appointed by the Commission upon recommendation of the director. The reviser\nmay be re moved only upon the approval of the Legislative Research Commission.\nThe reviser shall be learned in the law and shall be either a member of the bar of\nKentucky or a person who has had at least two (2) years of responsible experience\nin statute revision work.\n(2) The reviser of statutes shall perform any additional duties required by the\nCommission. He shall cooperate with and assist the director of the Legislative\nResearch Commission to the fullest extent practicable in the performance of his\nduties and on  request of the director shall draft bills, provide legal research and\nother assistance, and perform such other duties as do not substantially interfere with\nthe performance of his duties under KRS 7.120, 7.131, 7.132, 7.134, 7.136, 7.138,\nand this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 7"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=476","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:26Z","sha256":"1fc28116235c0ce735072782f3bf9d1d46b654b10b7e1646036f9f5ef6a2046b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-7.138","next":"us-ky/krs-7.150"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
