{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-7.330","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 7.330","heading":"Audit or investigation of financial records -- Review and evaluation of state -","body":"supported programs.\nThe Commission may:\n(1) Perform an audit or investigation of any accounts, books and other financial records\nof the state government, or of any officer, de partment, board, bureau, institution,\ncommission, agency, or other unit, of the state;\n(2) Examine and audit any fiscal books, records and accounts of custodians of public\nfunds, and of disbursing officers of the state, making independent verification of a ll\nassets, liabilities, revenues and expenditures of the state and agencies of the state;\n(3) Review and evaluate any program supported in whole or in part by state\nappropriation. In any instance in which a program review indicates inadequate\noperating or administrative system controls or procedures, inaccuracies, waste,\nextravagance, unauthorized or unintended activities or programs, or other\ndeficiencies, the Commission may report its findings to the General Assembly;\n(4) Perform audit of any agency, priv ate or semiprivate agency or organization\nreceiving state funds and review audits of such agencies to ascertain that\nrecommendations are implemented within sixty (60) days after issuance of the final\naudit report under KRS 43.090(1); such reviews may be ma de by the appropriate\ninterim committee as determined by the Commission;\n(5) The Commission may, at any time, study or review any matter relative to program\nactivities of any state department, agency, or institution;\n(6) Require the assistance of any execu tives and officials, auditors, accountants, and\nother employees of any agency at any time in the inspection, examination and audit\nof books, accounts and records.","path":["KRS Chapter 7"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=483","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:26Z","sha256":"f9363fb6ac80c4a234eac19a5d63212f924b24c6bf212a246344f3aba8976dea","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-7.320","next":"us-ky/krs-7.340"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
