{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-74.100","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 74.100","heading":"Acquisition of existing systems -- Extension of mains and laterals -- How","body":"paid for.\n(1) Whenever a water supply line or system is in operation in any water district, and is\nsupplying water to the citizens and landowners, and the commission deems it\nexpedient to acquire the existing system, they may examine it, and if they find it\nproperly designed and constructed they may purchase it, and pay for it in the same\nmanner as provided for the original construction and improvement; or may pay for\nit in whole or in part out of any surplus funds in possession, receipt or anticipation\nof receipt by the commission.\n(2) The commission may order any work or improvement it deems necessary to extend\nthe necessary water mains and water laterals in the district to supp ly water to the\nresidents of the district, and pay for such work by assessment against the land\nbenefited according to benefits, as provided in this chapter, or may pay for the work\nin whole or in part out of the general fund of the water district realized  from all\nother resources in the district.","path":["KRS Chapter 74"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=24373","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:34Z","sha256":"d975919b61361cd8a6844876cda934390c91f31513f87e5f563a7ebcbf06b359","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-74.090","next":"us-ky/krs-74.110"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
