{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-75.010","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 75.010","heading":"Creation of fire protection or volunteer fire department district --","body":"Territorial limits on proposed service area.\n(1) A fire protection district or a volunteer fire department district may be created in\naccordance with the procedures of KRS 65.182.\n(2) A fire protection district or volunteer fire department district shall not include any\nterritory within its proposed service area that lies within:\n(a) The corporate limits of a city;\n(b) The boundaries of an existing fire protection district or volun teer fire\ndepartment district established pursuant to KRS 75.010 to 75.080;\n(c) The service area boundaries of a fire department created under KRS Chapter\n273 that is certified under KRS 75.400 to 75.460; or\n(d) An area that is not contained within the bou ndaries of a city, but has fire\nprotection services provided by a city government, unless an agreement is in\nplace for the newly formed district to assume services in the territory as\nauthorized in KRS 75.020(1)(b).","path":["KRS Chapter 75"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=45339","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:34Z","sha256":"8bb4b2656b3ea2824d1407962d618813b4c3ad2d630ce44c0a392f38a36fa715","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-74.990","next":"us-ky/krs-75.015"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
