{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-75.070","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 75.070","heading":"No liability for damages when serving outside limits of district or","body":"municipality -- Fire departments as agents of Commonwealth.\n(1) A municipal fire department, fire protection district fire department, and volunteer\nfire department and the personnel o f each, answering any fire alarms, performing\nfire prevention services, or other duly authorized emergency services inside and\noutside of the corporate limits of its municipality, fire protection district, or area\nnormally served by a volunteer fire depart ment, shall be considered an agent of the\nCommonwealth of Kentucky, and acting solely and alone in a governmental\ncapacity, and such municipality, fire protection district, or area normally served by a\nvolunteer fire department, shall not be liable in dama ges for any omission or act of\ncommission or negligence while answering an alarm, performing fire prevention\nservices, or other duly authorized emergency services.\n(2) No municipal fire department, fire protection district fire department or volunteer\nfire department answering any fire alarms, performing fire prevention services or\nvolunteer fire department services inside the corporate limits of the district shall be\nliable in damages for any omission or act of commission or negligence while\nanswering or r eturning from any fire or reported fire, or doing or performing any\nfire prevention work under and by virtue of this chapter and said fire departments\nshall be considered agents of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and acting solely\nand alone in a governmental capacity.","path":["KRS Chapter 75"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=24443","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:35Z","sha256":"ef0ea9b575734cf0dc4535cc948ca5b0151e9d9867bfd5b3e78858a0bdf3ae06","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-75.060","next":"us-ky/krs-75.080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
