{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-75.250","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 75.250","heading":"Board may employ counsel -- Duties -- Compensation -- Duties of county","body":"attorney.\n(1) The board may, in its discretion, employ or retain a regularly licensed attorney to\nadvise them on all matters pertaining to their duties and shall have the discretion  to\ndelegate such authority to said attorney not forbidden by law. Said attorney shall\nattend all meetings of the board, except executive sessions when the board does not\ndesire his presence, whenever the board shall request him to attend and shall advise\nthe board on all legal matters on which he is requested to give advice.\n(2) In addition to the attorney provided for in subsection (1) of this section, the county\nattorney in the county in which the fire protection district lies shall advise and\nrepresent the board in all matters and on the occasions chosen by the board\nwhenever the board so requests.\n(3) The board may fix the salary or compensation of the attorney provided for in\nsubsection (1) of this section, in their discretion.","path":["KRS Chapter 75"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=24460","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:35Z","sha256":"41dc3eeefbabb24e567535a2b069d8983d08fa0a3c58cd3f2b8aade160319940","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-75.240","next":"us-ky/krs-75.255"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
