{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-75.420","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 75.420","heading":"Application for recognition of fire department -- Boundaries.","body":"(1) The commission shall recognize all fire departments which comply with the\nprovisions of KRS 75.410 and regulations promulgated in compliance therewith.\nApplications for recognition shall be made on forms provided by the commission.\nThe department shall att ach to the application an accurate map and a written\ndescription which delineates the boundaries of the area served by the department.\nThe map and description shall also be filed with the county clerk of the county in\nwhich the department is located. If th e boundaries extend into two (2) or more\ncounties, the map and description shall be filed with the county clerk in each county\nin which a part of the department's service area is located.\n(2) The boundaries between two (2) or more departments created pursu ant to KRS\nChapter 273 may be altered if the departments enter into a written agreement\nestablishing the boundaries, and if a majority of the property owners in the affected\narea approve the new boundaries.
