{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-76.100","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 76.100","heading":"Construction, improvement or extension of sewer and drainage system --","body":"Contracts -- Contractors' bonds.\nIt shall be the duty of the district as promptly as possible, to rehabilitate, construct,\nimprove, and extend, any sewer and drainage system taken o ver and controlled by it,\nwhich shall include, but is not limited to, disconnection of storm water drains and\nconstructing outlets therefor, where such work is necessary to relieve existing sanitary\nsewers of storm water loads, in order to permit the effic ient operation of such sanitary\nsewers. The district may make rules and regulations for the submission of bids and the\nconstruction of such additions, betterments, and extensions, or any part thereof. No\ncontract shall be entered into for construction work  or for the purchase of materials,\nunless the contractor shall give an undertaking with corporate surety in an amount\napproved by the board for the faithful performance of the contract. As to contracts entered\ninto for construction, such undertaking shall provide, among other things, that the person\nor corporation entering into such contract with the district will pay for all materials\nfurnished and services rendered in the performance of the contract, and that any person or\ncorporation furnishing such mate rials or rendering such services, may maintain an action\nthereon to recover for the same against the obligor in the undertaking and the surety, as\nthough such person or corporation was named therein.","path":["KRS Chapter 76"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=24484","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:35Z","sha256":"9287f24ce300356927914dce94c6638e8a314a12d4deab2bbe589bb84c0d0267","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-76.091","next":"us-ky/krs-76.110"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
