{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-76.274","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 76.274","heading":"Sanitation tax district -- Creation, powers -- Area included.","body":"In the interest of the public health and for the purpose of providing adequate sanitation\nand drainage facilities in each county containing a city of the first class, there may be\ncreated and established therein one or more sanitation tax districts, under the provisions\nof KRS 76.005 to 76.295, having the powers, duties and functions prescribed in KRS\n76.005 to 76.295, and to be known by and under the name of .... (name) sanitation tax\ndistrict. Such a district under its name shall be a public body corporat e and political\nsubdivision, with power to adopt, use and alter at its pleasure a corporate seal, sue and be\nsued, contract and be contracted with, and in other ways to act as a natural person, within\nthe purview of KRS 76.005 to 76.295. Such district may encompass any territory within\nthe county except:\n(1) Territory in the district area of a metropolitan sewer district,\n(2) Sewered areas which are connected to the district facilities of a metropolitan sewer\ndistrict, and\n(3) Sewered areas which have paid a capital investment recovery fee, or are paying the\nsame, to a metropolitan sewer district to reimburse the metropolitan sewer district\nfor that portion of its capital expenditures equitably allocable to the sewered area.","path":["KRS Chapter 76"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=24539","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:36Z","sha256":"04496eac807f18d0e1b39472f9d04c72bfbcc8b206e2f5127afa3e7fb6c26f5b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-76.273","next":"us-ky/krs-76.275"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
