{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-77.005","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 77.005","heading":"Definitions for chapter.","body":"As used in this chapter, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Legislative body\" means the chief legislative body of the city, whether it is the\nboard of aldermen, general council, board of commissioners, or otherwise;\n(2) \"Air contaminant\" or \"air c ontaminants\" includes smoke, charred paper, dust, soot,\ngrime, carbon, noxious acids, fumes, gases, odors, or particulate matter, or any\ncombination thereof;\n(3) \"District\" means an air pollution control district;\n(4) \"Largest city\" means the city with the  greatest population within the county based\nupon the most recent federal decennial census conducted by the United States\nCensus Bureau;\n(5) \"Person\" means any individual, firm, copartnership, joint adventure, association,\ncorporation, social club, fraternal organization, estate, trust, receiver, syndicate, any\ncounty, city, municipality, district (for air pollution control or otherwise), or other\npolitical subdivision, or any group or combination acting as a unit, and the plural as\nwell as the singular unit; and\n(6) \"Ringelmann Chart\" means that standard published by the United States Bureau of\nMines to determine the density of smoke.","path":["KRS Chapter 77"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43645","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:37Z","sha256":"e6176f2253c4ff23d5c27bb2649d17fcc31b9b80623b9efd73eaf2f673ddf8f4","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-76.640","next":"us-ky/krs-77.010"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
