{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-77.085","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 77.085","heading":"Election of chairman and vice chairman -- Secretary-treasurer and air","body":"pollution control officer -- Deputies, assistants, and other employees.\n(1) An air pollution control board operating under KRS 77.070 shall, in July of each\nyear, elect from its me mbers a chairman and a vice chairman who shall be of\ndifferent political party affiliation. The board shall employ a competent secretary -\ntreasurer and an air pollution control officer, neither of whom shall be a member of\nthe board. The secretary -treasurer and the air pollution control officer shall devote\ntheir entire time and attention exclusively to the services of the board.\n(2) The air pollution control officer shall be an engineer by profession and shall be a\ngraduate of a recognized university or col lege, shall be thoroughly familiar with the\ntheory and practice of the prevention and control of air pollution, and shall meet the\nqualifications for a nonelective peace officer stated in KRS 61.300.\n(3) The secretary-treasurer and the air pollution contro l officer may be removed by the\nboard, for cause, after hearing by it and after at least ten (10) days notice in writing\nshall have been given to the secretary -treasurer or the air pollution control officer,\nas the case may be, which notice shall embrace t he charges preferred against the\nperson. At the hearing the person may be represented by counsel.
