{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-79.320","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 79.320","heading":"Definitions for KRS 79.325.","body":"As used in KRS 79.325, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Base year collections\" means the amount of combined collections received by the\ncity of the first class and the county containing such city in calendar year 1985;\n(2) \"Collections\" means th e sums received (excluding penalties and interest) by a city\nof the first class and the county containing such city in a calendar year from its\noccupational license fee levy;\n(3) \"Combined inflation-adjusted base\" means the base year collections of the cit y of\nthe first class and the county containing such city adjusted by the increase or\ndecrease in the consumer price index by using 1985 as the base year. Each year the\ncombined inflation adjusted base shall be computed by multiplying the consumer\nprice ind ex in December of that year by base year collections and dividing the\nproduct by the December 1985 consumer price index;\n(4) \"Consumer price index\" means the index for all urban consumers as published by\nthe United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics; and\n(5) \"Occupational license fees\" means license fees levied upon wages and net profits by\na city of the first class pursuant to KRS 91.200 and by the county containing such\ncity pursuant to KRS 68.180, but shall not include occupational li cense fees\nimposed for educational purposes pursuant to KRS Chapter 160, for mass\ntransportation programs pursuant to KRS 96A.310 to 96A.370 or license fees or\ntaxes on insurance premiums for the privilege of engaging in the business of\ninsurance.","path":["KRS Chapter 79"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=24805","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:39Z","sha256":"ea0c0415934cb6fad3f46733ac481742cf1d89bf4234b6c550016a60117e0e47","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-79.315","next":"us-ky/krs-79.325"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
