(Effective until January 1, 2027)\n(1) The Information Technology Oversight Committee is hereby established and shall\nconsist of six (6) members to be appointed as follows:\n(a) The Speaker of the House of Representatives shall appoint three (3) current\nmembers of the House of Representatives, one (1) of whom shall be\ndesignated co -chair, and at least one (1) of the three (3) members shall\nrepresent the minority party;\n(b) The President of the Senate shall appoint three (3) current members of the\nSenate, one (1) of whom shall be designated co -chair, and at least one (1) of\nthe three (3) members shall represent the minority party; and\n(c) All members shall be active members of the Kentucky General Assembly\nduring their terms of appointment.\n(2) Any vacancy on the committee shall be filled in the same manner as the original\nappointment.\n(3) The co-chairs shall have joint responsibilities for committee meetings, agendas , and\npresiding at committee meetings.\n(4) On an alternating basis, each co -chair shall have the first option to set the meeting\ndate. A meeting may be canceled by agreement of both co -chairs. The committee\nshall meet at least twice during each calendar year.\n(5) Members of the committee shall be entitled to reimbursement for expenses incurred\nin the performance of their duties.\n(6) A majority of the entire membership of the committee shall constitute a quorum,\nand all actions of the committee shall be by v ote of a majority of its entire\nmembership.\n(7) The purpose of the committee is to:\n(a) Review investment and funding strategies to improve or modernize state\nagency information technology systems or applications, including:\n1. Legacy systems;\n2. Cybersecurity systems; and\n3. The current and ongoing operation and maintenance of state agency\ninformation technology systems or applications;\n(b) Determine the appropriate organizational structure for deployment of\ntechnology across the Commonwealth; and\n(c) Review the latest information technology developments trending across the\nnation.\nEffective: March 19, 2025","path":["KRS Chapter 7A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55886","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:27Z","sha256":"0b330836b3955c2d853fa1fa7b03d58fe48529402eb9d41a4bd99d14904eef72","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-7a.180","next":"us-ky/krs-7a.190"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
