{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-7a.190","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 7A.190","heading":"State agencies to submit information to committee biennially --","body":"Requirements -- Written report to Legislative Research Commission.\n(1) The committee, in consultation with the Commonwealth Office of Technology,\nshall prescribe the form, conte nts, and manner of submission of data to fulfill the\npurposes under KRS 7A.185(7) and to provide an inventory of existing information\ntechnology systems or applications.\n(2) (a) Not later than July 15, 2025, and not later than April 15, 2027, and each Apri l\n15 biennially thereafter, each state agency in the executive, legislative, and\njudicial branches of state government shall submit information to the\ncommittee outlining the manner in which the agency intends to transition its\ninformation technology syste ms or applications into a modern, integrated,\nsecure, and effective technological environment, including a six (6) year\noutline and funding sources for that transition.\n(b) Each state agency shall provide information regarding an estimated timeline\nand funding source for:\n1. Each legacy system;\n2. Each cybersecurity system;\n3. The maintenance or upgrade required for an existing information\ntechnology system or application; and\n4. Each planned development of a future information technology system or\napplication required within the state agency.\n(c) Each state agency may consult with and obtain information from the\nCommonwealth Office of Technology to carry out the requirements of this\nsubsection.\n(3) (a) On or before October 1, 2025, and biennially thereafter, the committee shall\nprovide a written re port to the Legislative Research Commission that\nidentifies:\n1. Existing and planned information technology systems or applications to\nimprove or modernize state agency information technology systems; and\n2. The method of funding for each information techn ology system or\napplication identified by the state agency.\n(b) The written report to the Legislative Research Commission shall include:\n1. A recommendation by the committee of the estimated amount necessary\nto fully fund to completion each information tec hnology system or\napplication identified; and\n2. Strategies developed by the committee to ensure a long -term investment\nsolution is in place to improve or modernize information technology\nsystems or applications, including strategies to:\na. Access the full amount of federal moneys available; and\nb.
