{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-7a.283","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 7A.283","heading":"Board authority.","body":"The board, consistent with its purpose as established in KRS 7A.273, shall have the\nauthority to:\n(1) Require any of the following entities to provide any and all information necessary\nto carry out the board's duties, including any contracts entered into b y the\ndepartment, the cabinet, or any other state agency related to the administration of\nany aspect of the Medicaid program or the delivery of Medicaid benefits or\nservices:\n(a) The cabinet;\n(b) The department;\n(c) Any other state agency;\n(d) Any Medicaid  managed care organization with whom the department has\ncontracted for the delivery of Medicaid services;\n(e) The state pharmacy benefit manager contracted by the department pursuant to\nKRS 205.5512; and\n(f) Any other entity contracted by a state agency to  administer or assist in\nadministering any aspect of the Medicaid program or the delivery of Medicaid\nbenefits or services;\n(2) Establish a uniform format for reports and data submitted to the board and the\nfrequency, which may be monthly, quarterly, semiannually, annually, or biannually,\nand the due date for the reports and data;\n(3) Conduct public hearings in furtherance of its general duties, at which it may request\nthe appearance of officials of any state agency and solicit the testimony of\ninterested groups and the general public;\n(4) Establish any advisory committees or subcommitt ees of the board that the board\ndeems necessary to carry out its duties and upon approval of the Commission:\n(a) Include in the membership of an advisory committee or subcommittee\nindividuals who are not members of the board; and\n(b) Appoint as co -chairs of an advisory committee or subcommittee individuals\nwho are not members of the General Assembly;\n(5) Recommend that the Auditor of Public Accounts perform a financial or special\naudit of the Medicaid program or any aspect thereof; and\n(6) Subject to select ion and approval by the Commission, utilize the services of\nconsultants, analysts, actuaries, legal counsel, and auditors to render professional,\nmanagerial, and technical assistance, as needed.","path":["KRS Chapter 7A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57038","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:27Z","sha256":"5b05dbfdefd9c5da2af261f007028f5fd90aac2a0da05722e80f1ae2e9559133","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-7a.279","next":"us-ky/krs-7a.285"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
