{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-7b.010","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 7B.010","heading":"Legislative findings.","body":"The General Assembly finds and declares that:\n(1) The growing complexity and interdependence of the modern world, demonstrated\nby such issues as global environmental change, changing workforce development\nneeds, the aging population, international trade, the number of working poor, the\nneed for improved access to health care, and the emergence of fundamental changes\nin the role of government, require that government decision -makers consider the\nlong-term changes affecting the welfare of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and\nbring these factors to bear upon public policy;\n(2) There is a need to coordinate state government's information resources to provide a\nsystematic and comprehensive use of that information to guide policymakers\nconcerning critical trends and alternative futures;\n(3) To effect a prosperous future for the Commonwealth and its citizens, it is necessary\nfor changes to occur in the way decisions are made in government so policymakers\ncan consider the long-term implications of decisions and address emerging issues so\nthe Commonwealth can take advant age of opportunities, avoid problems, and\nprovide for continuity in policy; and\n(4) It is necessary to establish mechanisms to bring all perspectives into the decision -\nmaking process to evaluate information, focus attention on areas in which\ninformation is inadequate, and identify critical trends and alternative futures based\nupon the best available information.","path":["KRS Chapter 7B"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=505","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:27Z","sha256":"faec85c39415eca9ef29fb2579f7ebb693dcd9030073e60aaf5ba8967fbcd6f4","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-7a.290","next":"us-ky/krs-7b.020"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
