{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-80.180","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 80.180","heading":"Authority to have full control of housing and housing stock.","body":"(1) The authority shall, itself, or through agreements with other public or private\nentities, operate, manage, and control housing, fix the rate of rentals, and establish\nbylaws, rules, and regulations for the use and operation of the projects not\ninconsistent with the provisions of this chapter. The legislative body of a city may\nprescribe by ordinance penalties for the violation of bylaws, rules, and regulations\nof a project located within the city.\n(2) The authority, itself, or through agreements with other public or private entities,\nmay operate, manage and control housing stock not within the meaning of KRS\n80.010(1) either in their entirety or in conjunction with other persons, whether\nprivate or public, or whether through partnership agreements, joint ven ture\nagreements and development agreements, limited liability company agreements, and\nother agreements of that type with other persons, public or private, who may earn a\nprofit from the activities of that venture. Although public housing projects shall not\nbe constructed or operated for profit, or as a source of revenue, other activities\nundertaken by an authority in conformance with this chapter to maintain or enhance\nthe adequacy of housing stock for low -income and moderate -income persons shall\nnot be sub ject to the limitation on construction or operation for profit, so long as\nany profits or any other net revenues generated thereby are utilized, directly or\nindirectly, in the furtherance of the maintenance and enhancement of housing.","path":["KRS Chapter 80"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=24827","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:40Z","sha256":"4a2395a6867dacf0d95f576969d3ef7fc985a2c5105672707679dd7537c36cea","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-80.170","next":"us-ky/krs-80.190"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
