{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-80.200","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 80.200","heading":"Rentals and tenant selection -- Participation in private and public","body":"developments.\n(1) An authority may rent or lease the dwelling accommodations in a housing\ndevelopment only for housing purposes under this chapter.\n(2) An authority may rent or lease to a tenant dwelling accommodations consisting only\nof the number of rooms that it deems necessary to provide safe and sanitary\naccommodations to the proposed occupants without overcrowding.\n(3) The dwellings in any housing development shall be available so lely for housing\npurposes under this chapter. Income limits for occupancy and rents shall be fixed by\nthe authority after taking into consideration:\n(a) The family size, composition, age, physical disabilities, and other factors\nwhich might affect the rent-paying ability of the family, and\n(b) The economic factors which affect the finance and solvency of the housing\ndevelopment.\n(4) The authority shall issue regulations establishing eligibility requirements, consistent\nwith the purposes and objectives of th is section, for admission to and continued\noccupancy in its developments.\n(5) Nothing contained in subsections (1), (2), (3), and (4) of this section shall limit the\npower of an authority to vest in an obligee of the authority the right, in the event of\na default by the authority, to take possession of a housing development or cause the\nappointment of a receiver thereof, free from all the restrictions imposed by this\nsection.\n(6) An authority may participate in private and public developments not falling wi thin\nthe definition of \"housing,\" as set forth in KRS 80.010, except that:\n(a) An authority may not purchase, divide, or subdivide land except as provided\nin this chapter or as set forth in KRS 80.140; and\n(b) An authority may not develop, improve, construct upon, sell, or resell any real\nproperty except as provided in this chapter or as set forth in KRS 80.140.","path":["KRS Chapter 80"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=24829","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:40Z","sha256":"dc3c81dca8ac8afdcca6f18bad31122c54766770ffd319f5e032e38095606b04","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-80.190","next":"us-ky/krs-80.210"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
