{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-80.264","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 80.264","heading":"Legal effects of creation of city-county authority.","body":"(1) On the day set in the resolutions of the city and contiguous county governing\nbodies:\n(a) Any housing commission in said city and any housing commission in the\ncontiguous county shall cease to exist as a body politic and corporate;\n(b) All property, real and personal and mixed, belonging to the abolished city and\ncontiguous county housing commissions shall vest in, belong to, and be the\nproperty of the city-county housing authority;\n(c) All judgments, liens, rights of liens, and causes of action of any n ature, in\nfavor of the abolished commissions, shall remain, vest in, and inure to the\nbenefit of the city-county housing authority;\n(d) All rentals, taxes, assessments, and any other funds, charges or fees, owing to\nthe abolished commissions shall be owed  to and collected by the city -county\nhousing authority;\n(e) Any actions, suits, and proceedings pending against, or having been instituted\nby the abolished housing commissions shall not be abated by such abolition,\nbut all such actions, suits and proceedings shall be continued and completed in\nthe same manner as if abolition had not occurred, and the city -county housing\nauthority shall be a party to all such actions, suits, and proceedings in the\nplace and stead of the abolished housing commissions and sha ll pay or cause\nto be paid any judgments rendered against the abolished housing commissions\nin any such actions, suits, or proceedings, and no new process need be served\nin any such actions, suits or proceedings;\n(f) All obligations of the abolished housi ng commissions, including outstanding\nindebtedness, shall be assumed by the city -county housing authority, and all\nsuch obligations and outstanding indebtedness shall be constituted obligations\nand indebtedness of the city-county housing authority; and\n(g) All rules, regulations and policies of the abolished housing commissions shall\ncontinue in full force and effect until repealed or amended by the city -county\nhousing authority.\n(2) The creation of a city -county housing authority shall be subject to the same\nprovisions and limitations of KRS 80.320 to 80.610 as are applicable to a regional\nhousing authority.\n(3) The area of operation of a city -county housing authority shall include all of the\nterritory within the boundaries of the city and contiguous cou nty joining in the\ncreation of the authority.","path":["KRS Chapter 80"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=24840","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:40Z","sha256":"43195d0192315de2827805b5b2e9d7a0740776d3e264612c7ccdc8d56cd261ec","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-80.263","next":"us-ky/krs-80.266"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
