{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-82.110","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 82.110","heading":"Acquisition of land for governmental projects -- Improvement.","body":"(1) A city may acquire by purchase, exercise of the power of eminent domain, option or\nlease, and may accept by way of grant, gift, devise or otherwise, a fee simple\nunencumbered title to, or any lesser interest in, lands which are suitable for and\nacceptable to a governmental agency as a site or sites for one or more governmental\nprojects.\n(2) In addition to such acquisition, a city may improve such lands in any manner which\nin the discretion of the governing body may be necessary or desirable to place the\nsame in condition suitable and acceptable for use and occupancy, including, but not\nby way of limitation, demolition of existing buildings or structures, removal of\ndebris, grading, provision of proper drainage, closure of public ways, establishment\nand impr ovement of new public ways, relocation and improvement of existing\npublic ways, relocation of publicly or privately owned utility installations, erection\nof buildings, structures and other improvements, and extension of the services and\nfacilities of any city-owned utility system to any such site or sites.","path":["KRS Chapter 82"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=25044","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:43Z","sha256":"abec68445773184411f50678f8937e0bb458183fbbf3ecf2a44e4e8e2c9a698c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-82.105","next":"us-ky/krs-82.115"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
